Viennese-born Edith Bukovics grew up in several countries, including Norway New Zealand and the United States, and is now based between New York and London. She received her MA (Hons) in English Literature from Cambridge University where she also acted in numerous critically acclaimed theatrical productions, and subsequently went on to train in the Meisner technique for three years under the tutelage of Tom Radcliffe at Actors Temple, London.

As an actress Edith quickly carved out a reputation playing leading Shakespearean roles including Ophelia in HAMLET at Cambridge’s Playroom, and Helena in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM at the Arts Theatre. London theatre credits include lead roles in PEER GYNT (Arcola) and POLYGRAPH (Soho Theatre) and she enjoys an ongoing collaboration with a professional actors’ troupe at Richmond Bridge Theatre.

Edith’s first leading screen role was in the powerful Greek-Cypriot film SECRET PATHS. She has made a name for herself creating naturalistic and honest performances and since making the move into film she has worked with BAFTA and FIPRESCI award-winning directors such as Vadim Jean and Julian Kemp. Stand out roles include Natalie in the romantic comedy MY LAST FIVE GRILFRIENDS opposite Naomie Harris, and Camilla in the psychological thriller FOSSIL, alongside John Sackville and Carla Juri.

Edith makes time for personal projects and has two feature films and a documentary web-series in development. Alongside acting she continues to pursue her artistic passion as a painter; her work concentrates on the rhythm of the human body and has been exhibited in several galleries including Rivington Place and the converted Aldwych tube station in London.
